Hey Utah . . .
What the L?
without liberty there is no life, without life there is no love, without love there is no liberty
"VOTE out of LOVE for the PRINCIPLES you know to be true:
free agency, self-ownership, non-initiation of aggression
not in reaction to what you fear."
- Dr. Joseph G. Buchman, PhD, 3 July 2016
paid for by the Dr. Joseph Buchman, PhD, LIBERTARIAN for Utah State Senate Campaign
The LIBERTARIAN PARTY is the "Party of Principle."
Where the two old parties offer fear, mutual slander and individual self-destruction,
Libertarians share our commitment to rigorous financial integrity,
peaceful social acceptance and individual personal liberty.
Dr. Joe Buchman is a life-long libertarian. He has served as the Libertarian Party's national Platform Committee Chair, as the Utah Libertarian Party Secretary and is currently serving on the national party's Audit Committee.
Joe and Cindy, married for 23 years, have four children. He retired from full-time teaching in 2014 and has dedicated his "retirement" to public service as a volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America (which awarded him their honor society's National Distinguished Service Award in 2012), the Sundance Film Festival (12 years), Landmark Worldwide (11 years), Burning Man Census Team (6 years), the Sonoma International Film Festival (3 years). He is currently serving as a volunteer in the Church Service Mission for the LDS Family History Library.
Joe has taught MBA programs in Beijing China and Ulaanbaatar Mongolia. He was a key organizer of and moderator for the 2013 Citizen Hearing on Disclosure in Washington, DC. and was described by the New York Times as, "a decades long advocate for government transparency."
Following his service as a tenured professor of marketing at Utah Valley State College (now UVU), he served as a lead course designer and subject matter expert for the University of Chicago's online MBA programs.
He is the author of several undergraduate and graduate-level college textbook chapters and has presented his research to meetings of the National Association of Broadcasters, American Psychological Association, Broadcast Education Association, TEDx, Popular Culture Association and the Society for Scientific Exploration.
Dr. Buchman holds a PhD in telecommunications from Indiana University (1989), a Master's of Science in finance from Purdue University (1983) and BS in marketing from Indiana University (1980).
In 2015 the Sundance Film Festival asked 2,300 volunteers to share personal anecdotes.
I was one of the four chosen to be made into a "Festimonial."
This played on Volunteer Appreciation Day in every Sundance Theater.
It's one of the many, many reasons - I LOVE LIVING IN UTAH!
